Every pest species has its own habitat requirements for shelter, moisture, food, light and temperature. If the right habitat occurs in your house, pests can move in. Chemical treatments can kill them for a time, but if their habitat is still present, they will come back. Our green pest control treatments are a tailor-made solution based on our in depth knowledge of the behaviour of the pest species and an understanding of the habitat that they need to survive in your house. We come up with and effective plan to remove pests and only treat areas that need to be treated.
We don’t just use a blanket approach but we instead focus on each individual situation and the client’s needs to develop a treatment program that you are comfortable with and which suits your situation. In many cases we may not even need to spray inside your house but instead focus on key harbourage areas such as sub floors, roof and cavity areas to control the pests.
The treatment products we use are the most environmentally safe chemicals on the market today. These are “synthetic pyrethroids” (approved by the EPA) which are an enhanced man-made version of Pyrethrum, a naturally occurring substance found in Pyrethrum daisies. Because they are water based and fully biodegradable, these products are very effective at controlling pests but are very low toxicity to people and other mammals. In fact they are less toxic than many household cleaning products used around your home, meaning there is no need for you to leave your house when our pest control services are being undertaken. Of course, we are always careful to inform you in advance of any extra precautions you may want to take for pets and children.
In addition to chemical treatment, we also advise on habitat modifications so we can work with you to make your home less attractive to pest species.

Pyrethrum – a natural pest control insecticide.
Pyrethrum is the name of a natural insecticide made from dried flower heads of Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium and Chrysanthemum coccineum.
Pyrethroids are synthetic insecticides based on natural pyrethrum (pyrethrins); one common example is permethrin or bifenthrin . A common formulation of pyrethrin is in preparations containing the synthetic chemical piperonyl butoxide: this has the effect of enhancing the toxicity to insects and speeding the effects when compared with pyrethrins used alone. These formulations are known as synergized pyrethrins.
